Frequently Asked Questions
What primary services do you offer?
In home consultations to provide patients the best quality of life. In home supportive care treatments- subcutaneous fluid therapy, injectable medications. TCVM Acupuncture to manage painful conditions and support the body during hospice care. Why is in home euthanasia different?
In-home euthanasia is much less stressful for pets and owners. For many owners and pets, the veterinary clinic setting is a place that causes anxiety and fear. By choosing to have your pet humanely euthanized at home, you are choosing to have them remember their last moments with their favorite people in their favorite place.
Do I need to be present during euthanasia?
All in home euthanasia patients are provided with injectable sedation before euthanasia. This means that pet owners can choose to be present only as long as they are comfortable. Many pet owners choose to have thier pets fall alseep in their arms with sedation but do not want to be present for their final injection given for euthanasia.
Who should be present for a home euthanasia?
Anyone you desire can be present for home euthanasia. This can include children and extended family and friends if desired. But this is a very special and sacred moment between pet and pet parent. For this reason, we recommend that you decide who should be present in the room. We do not recommend including young children and other pets, who can serve as a distraction from those last very special moments with your pet.
Should my other pets be present during humane euthanasia?
This is another decision that should be carefully considered before your appointment. Some pets may distract from your private time with your pet while others may be a great support. Many pet parents choose to have their other pets view housemates after they have passed away even if they are not present for the euthanasia process. This may bring closure to pet parents and other pets in the household.
